Fancy Clipboard

Supplies: scrapbook paper, glossy mod podge, scissors, paint brush
Trace the clipboard on the 12x12 paper. Cut. The clipboard will be a little longer than the paper.
Coat the clipboard with mod podge, lay paper on the clipboard. I used an old credit card to smooth down the paper and get any creases out. Coat the paper with more mod podge.
Once it dries trim off any excess paper. I tied ribbon scraps on the "clip" part of the board. Make sure to burn the ends of the ribbon to avoid fraying. All done!!!!

Headband Holder

I love my headbands but hated that they got smashed in my hair accessory drawer. I think I've seen this headband holder idea on Pinterest.
I found a piece of scrapbook paper in my stock of paper and went for it! I used glossy Mod Podge to glue and seal the paper on the oatmeal container.
I stuffed my elastic headbands inside the container and put my regular headbands on the outside. The only down fall is that this container takes up a lot of room but I think it's worth it because I spend a good amount of money on hair accessories and I'd like to keep them in good shape.

Wii Bowling Tournament Trophies

I was browsing at Goodwill one day when I saw a bag of plastic bowling pins for $3. I knew I had a Wii Bowling tournament coming up and hadn't even thought of the trophies. I knew immediately what I was going to do with them.
Wii Bowling Trophies!!!!!!
Went to Wal-Mart and bought spray paint in Gold, Silver and Carmel Latte (supposed to look bronze)

I sprayed the plastic bowling pins (2 coats).
Using Mod Podge I coated the head of the bowling pin and sprinkled glitter on it. The only bad thing about dealing with glitter is no matter what you use to adhere the glitter to whatever surface, some glitter will still fall off. So I used a gloss sealent spray to really make sure the glitter stays on the plastic bowling pin. I used black acrylic paint to draw the numbers on. DONE!

Decopaged Flower Pot

I made this flower pot as a gift for my sister-in-law. I got on her Facebook, copied & pasted pictures of her kids into a Word document. I changed the pictures to black and white in Word, made their size smaller and printed them on regular printer paper. Using Mod Podge I glued the pictures onto the clay pot and sealed them with a top coat. Using hot glue I tied the ribbon around the top of the pot! Done!!! That easy!!

Altered Wooden Frame

I love buying $1 wooden frames from Michael's Craft Store. You can costumize them as much or as little as you want. My cousin's birthday was coming up so I decided to make her a quick frame.
Supplies:
  • Mod Podge
  • Wooden Frame
  • Chipboard letters
  • Glitter
  • Scrapbook Paper
  • Brads
  • Fake flowers
Use Mod Podge to glue and seal the paper to the frame. This gets pretty tricky but it works really well once the Mod Podge is dry. Once the Mod Podge is dry then start decorating the frame however you want!

Coastal Sign

One day while browsing the local Goodwill store I got the idea to look for wooden plaques or wooden signs. I didn't care what the sign said because I knew I could sand it off and repaint it. This sign had something dumb about using a microwave to cook. I sanded everything off, repainted it (I got the straight lines from using painter's tape). When the paint was dry I used sandpaper to give it a "worn" look. I used my Cricut cutting machine to make the letters. Using matte finish Mod Podge I glued and sealed the letters on the wood and DONE!

Coaster Photo Holders

Coaster Photo Holders
Materials:
Cardboard Coasters
Scrapbook paper
Embellishments (Ribbon, Flowers, Etc)
Mod Podge
2 Clothes Pins
Hot Glue Gun
Black Spray Paint

Step 1: Get 2 square cardboard coasters (you can find them at a restaurant)
Step 2: Take some patterned paper (I used all scrap paper), trace the coaster on the paper. Cut out the paper.
Step 3: Spray Paint one side of the coasters black (this will be the inside of the photo holder)
Step 4: Using Mod Podge paint Mod Podge on the side of the coaster that still has writing on it (Not the spray painted side). Stick the paper on the Mod Podge side. Press the paper down, making sure to get out all creases.
Step 5: Paint a coat of Mod Podge on the Paper. This seals the paper onto the coaster. Do this to both coasters. Wait about 5-10 minutes for the coasters to dry.

Step 6: Once both coasters are dry start playing around with different embellishments you can use on the photo holder.
I used matching ribbon and a paper flower I made (for directions on how to make the wet crumpled flower go here: http://sundayldesigns.com/how-to-make-wet-crumpled-paper-flowers/

Step 7: Hot glue any embellishments onto the coaster. You only need to embellish one side.

Step 8: When you are done embellishing the coaster turn the coasters upside down (Spray painted side facing up).
Step 9: Hot glue the clothes pins onto one coaster. Make sure to press down hard so the glue adheres.

Step 10: Put hot glue on the other side of the clothes pins and press the other coaster onto the glue. Make sure the coasters line up correctly.

ALL DONE!!!!

These are some others that I've made. They make great gifts and cost practically nothing to make!
