Small Table Makeover

I found this small table at a garage sale for $2. The lady was sad to see it go because it has been her great grandmother's table and it was over 100 years old. I assured her it was going to a good home. 

I sanded it down and started painting. I chose yellow and blue because it matches the chair I was going to put the table next door. 

My entire house is coastal themed so a compass would fit perfectly on the table top. 

I used this clip art as my inspiration. 

Monogrammed Anchor Sign

 

I had some old pallet wood lying around so I decided to finally use it. I painted the wood white before I screwed it together. Each piece of wood is approximately 20 inches long (half of a standard pallet board). The font I used for this is Lucida Bright. It's a standard font in Microsoft Word or Publisher. 

I used this free anchor clipart: 

 

I opened a new Word document. Copy and paste the anchor on the document. Draw a white square shape and place it in the middle of the anchor.  I used three text boxes for the letters. The middle letter is a size 230. The two outer letters are size 120. I then used my secret weapon (a projector) to project the image onto the wood. I traced the image with pencil and then painted it. I have picture wire screwed into the back of it so I can secure it to the wall.

Baby It's Cold Outside Baby Shower

I threw this baby shower for a friend. Though we live in Florida and it was 85 degrees in December when I had the baby shower, we embraced the "Baby It's Cold Outside" theme.

Late Night Diaper Changes:

Diaper Changing Relay Race:

Supplies: Diapers, Baby Wipes, Baby Powder, Baby Dolls (I managed to get the wipes and powder at the Dollar Tree). 

I had 20 guests so they were in four teams of 5. 

Instructions: Divide your guests into even teams. Each team member has to un-diaper the baby doll, wipe the baby's butt, powder it and put a clean diaper on the doll. They run back to their team and hand the doll off to the next person in line. First team to have all their members change the baby's diaper wins. 

 Guests had a ball with this game.

How the Baby was Made game:

Supplies: Cheap toilet paper and toilet plungers (bought everything at the Dollar Tree)

Instructions: Partner your guests up. One person will hold the plunger in between their legs with the handle pointing outward and the other partner put a roll of toilet paper in between their legs. The object of the game is to get the handle of the plunger in the roll of the toilet paper. Then partners switch the plunger and the toilet paper. First team to successfully get the plunger into the roll of the toilet paper wins!

Stackable Four Tier Flower Pots

I wanted something pretty and somewhat large for my front porch. I live in Florida therefore our extreme heat has the tendency to kill most plants. I went to Home Depot, bought four sizes of clay pots, potting soil and a hearty plant. I've seen others on Pinterest paint the clay pots but the only pot you end up seeing after a few months of growth is the bottom large pot.

I had some rain Lilly bulbs that I threw in the pots sporadically because they're very hearty and they have lots of babies. 

The tricky part was getting the tierred pots to stay put. I had to dig them into the soil of the pot under them.

I water it every few days. It basically takes care of itself and when the flowers are blooming it's very pretty!!! 

Scrap wood wall decor

A friend gave me a bunch of old fence slats. She didn't know what to do with them but I was instantly inspired!

Since I live in Florida seashells are not hard to come by. I bought these shells at a local shell store and spraypainted them white. My husband cut the wood 2" wide x 10" long. I painted them and lightly distressed the edges.
